Troubleshooting Guide
This guide covers the most common issues and the fastest checks to resolve them.
I Cannot See Other Nodes
- Confirm region and primary channel match your local network
- Confirm antenna is connected and not damaged
- Move closer to a known working node
- Try near a window or outdoors
- Reboot the node and resync settings from the app
I Can See Nodes but Messages Fail
- Reduce traffic by avoiding unnecessary telemetry and frequent updates
- Confirm you are not using Router or Repeater without a high site
- Check if your node is sleeping during expected traffic
My Node Does Not Show Up on the Map
- Confirm the MQTT module is enabled on the internet connected node
- Confirm Primary Channel Uplink is enabled
- Confirm OK to MQTT is enabled
- Confirm Position is enabled and the node has a valid location source
- Confirm broker credentials and internet connectivity
Caution:
If you enabled Downlink and the mesh becomes noisy or unreliable, disable Downlink first. Downlink rebroadcasts MQTT traffic over RF.
My Encrypted Channel Does Not Work
- Confirm channel name matches exactly on all devices
- Confirm the pre shared key matches exactly on all devices
- Confirm you are sending on the encrypted channel, not the primary channel
- Do not enable MQTT on encrypted channels
My Battery Dies Overnight
- Disable MQTT and WiFi to reduce power draw
- Increase sleep usage for handhelds and solar nodes
- Reduce GPS usage if not needed
- Reduce position update frequency
